Amelia Resources LLC sold its working interest in the Ruston Field in Lincoln Parish, La., the company said Nov. 10.
“We’re excited to monetize a natural gas asset at an attractive price and look forward to continued success in the project with our royalty interest. Wildhorse Resources LLC and Memorial Resource Development Corp. continue to improve and expand the deep Cotton Valley play across Lincoln Parish,” said president Kirk Barrell.
Amelia Resources has 17 years’ experience in the Cotton Valley, having evaluated more than 1,025 wells there. The company focused on Ruston Field in 2006, targeting proven undeveloped locations with vertical completions, the company said.
Amelia Resources generated the prospect and provided technical expertise during the lease acquisition and development drilling phase. “After holding this asset for several years, we now have the opportunity to increase our investment in our 3000 [foot] horizontal oil project in South Louisiana,” Barrell added.
The Woodlands, Texas-based company has several active projects on the U.S. Gulf Coast.
