Aqua Terra Water Management LP named Mark Harris as CEO, the company said in an Oct. 20 release.

In addition to his new CEO responsibilities, Harris will continue to serve on the board of directors of the company.

“Mark brings a wealth of experience and strong customer relationships with E&P companies that will help drive a corporate-level water management strategy,” said Scott Perekslis, managing partner and co-founder of New York-based private investment firm Bregal Partners, which formed Aqua Terra in November 2013.

Aqua Terra is an independent merchant operator of salt water disposal facilities serving customers in the Bakken Shale and throughout the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. The company is actively seeking acquisitions in both the U.S. and Canada.

“Separately, we are also pleased to announce that Tom Johnston will augment his current role as president of the company’s Canadian subsidiary by assuming the role of COO for Aqua Terra," Perekslis said. "We believe Mark and Tom are ideally suited to help guide the company’s further expansion into the U.S. market.”

Harris previoulsy served as the president of Archer Wireline LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Archer Ltd. (OTC: ARHVF). Prior to Archer, he served as the chief executive of Gray Wireline. He has held executive management positions with Western Atlas Inc., Wedge/Dialog, and Baker Hughes Inc. (NYSE: BHI) over his 30 year career.

Harris added, “Having worked with Scott Perekslis, Robert Bergmann [managing partner and co-founder of Bregal] and Paul McGill [principal at Bregal] in various capacities at Gray Wireline, I am excited about the opportunity to partner again with members of the Bregal team.”

Harris continued, “Water management is a pervasive and growing need for North American oil and gas producers. As light oil and liquids production continues to increase in both U.S. and Canada, we believe the need for commercial water management will become more acute. As a cross-border provider of water management, we believe Aqua Terra is well situated to meet the needs of producers and the ever-increasing regulatory burdens associated with oilfield fluid management.”
