While there always seems to a steady amount of activity in Eagle Ford, three early-2013 completions by EOG Resources Inc. in Gonzales County (RRC Dist. 1) stood out.

The #1H Boothe Unit produced 5.98 million cu. ft. of gas, 5,379 bbl. of 46-degree-gravity oil and 1,896 bbl. of water per day and an offset, #2H Boothe Unit produced 3,812 bbl. of crude, 5.04 million cu. ft. of gas and 1,032 bbl. of water per day. Another Eagleville Field well, #4H Baker-DeForest Unit, was completed producing 4,598 bbl. of 45-degree-gravity oil, 4.07 million cu. ft. of gas and 1,022 bbl. of water per day.

In late 2012, Magnum Hunter reported five new discoveries in Lavaca County.

Also, Weber Energy completed the first reported Eagle Ford producer in Brazos County (RRC Dist. 3), #1 Kodiak Unit.

1 EOG Resources Inc. - 03/14/13

Two significant Eagle Ford discoveries in Eagleville Field were announced by EOG Resources Inc. in Gonzales County, (RRC Dist. 1), Texas. The #1H Boothe Unit is in Section 5, Jesse McCoy Survey, A-44 and was tested flowing 5.98 million cu. ft. of gas, 5,379 bbl. of 46-degree-gravity oil and 1,896 bbl. of water per day. Tested on a 34/64-in. choke, the flowing casing pressure was 3,415 psi. The 15,913-ft. horizontal produces from fracture-treated perforations are at 11,859-15,786 ft. The lateral bottomed southeast beneath Section 6, James Hughes Survey, A-29 and the true vertical depth is 12,019 ft. The #2H Boothe Unit was drilled from a surface location offsetting #1H Boothe Unit. The #2H Boothe Unit produced 3,812 bbl. of crude, 5.04 million cu. ft. of gas and 1,032 bbl. of water per day. Production is from a fractured zone at 11,868-16,203 ft. and bottomed in Section 6, Hughes James Survey, A-29, just south of #1H Boothe Unit at a total depth of 16,291 ft., 11,982 ft. true vertical. 2 EOG Resources Inc. - 03/13/13

EOG Resources Inc. announced an Eagle Ford discovery in Gonzales County (RRC Dist. 1), Texas. The #4H Baker-DeForest Unit is in Eagleville Field and flowed 4,598 bbl. of 45-degree-gravity oil, 4.07 million cu. ft. of gas and 1,022 bbl. of water per day. The horizontal venture is in Wynn Robert H Survey, A-474 and bottomed under Davis Daniel Survey, A-1. Drilled to 17,537 ft., the true vertical depth is 11,929 ft. Production is from fracture-stimulated perforations at 11,647-17,445 ft. Tested on a 30/64-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 3,631 psi.

3 Magnum Hunter Resources Corp. - 02/14/13

Magnum Hunter Resources Corp. completed two horizontal Eagleville Field wells in Lavaca County (RRC Dist. 1), Texas as Eagle Ford producers. The #1H Rhino Hunter produced 2,033 bbl. of crude and 1.1 million cu. ft. of gas per day through perforations at 11,654-17,679 ft. The #1H Zebra Hunter is producing at a rate of 1,995 bbl. of crude and 898,000 cu. ft. of gas daily through perforations at 11,755-16,718 ft. The surface location is in Andrew Ponton Survey, A-35. The #1H Rhino Hunter was drilled to 17,905 ft., 10,924 ft. true vertical, and #1H Zebra Hunter was drilled to 16,980 ft., 10,988 ft. true vertical. Magnum Hunter’s headquarters are in Houston.

4 Weber Energy Corp. - 01/31/13

Weber Energy Corp. of Dallas reported a horizontal Eagle Ford completion in Brazos County (RRC Dist. 3), Texas. The #1 Kodiak Unit flowed 668 bbl. of 37.9-degree-gravity crude, 343,000 cu. ft. of gas and 253 bbl. of water. Production is from acid- and fracture-treated perforations at 8,702-13,476 ft. The 14,048 ft.-well has a true vertical depth of 8,205 ft. and is in Green H. Coleman Survey, A-10. Tested on a 17/64-in. choke, flowing tubing pressure was 680 psi. According to IHS Inc., Weber’s horizontal well is surrounded by dozens of Woodbine and Buda oil wells.

5 Southern Bay Operating - 01/28/13

Southern Bay Operating LLC has completed an Eagle Ford well in Fayette County (RRC Dist. 3), Texas. The #5H Ring A Unit produced 606 bbl. of 35.2-degree-gravity crude, 190,000 cu. ft. of gas and 1,048 bbl. of water per day. The well was tested through perforations at 10,424-15,192 ft. The horizontal well was drilled to 15,252 ft., 9,651 ft. true vertical, in Charles Wright Survey, A-318. Additional completion details are not available. Southern Bay is based in Houston.

6 Magnum Hunter Resources Corp. - 01/25/13

Magnum Hunter Resources reported two Lavaca County (RRC Dist. 2), Texas, completions in Chase William Survey, A-9. The Eagleville Field producers are #1H Hippo Hunter and #2H Hippo Hunter. The #1H Hippo Hunter flowed 1,033 bbl. of oil equivalent. Tested on a 17/64-in. choke, the flowing casing pressure was 2,256 psi. The well was drilled to 17,923 ft. with a horizontal lateral length of 6,678 ft. The well was treated with 24-stage fracture stimulation. The #2H Hippo Hunter was drilled to 17,887 ft. with a horizontal lateral length of 6,577 ft. The venture initially flowed 1,044 bbl. of oil equivalent per day. Gauged on a 17/64-in. choke, the flowing casing pressure was 2,421 psi. Houston-based Magnum Hunter owns a 50% working interest in both wells.

7 Magnum Hunter Resources Corp. - 12/13/12

Houston-based Magnum Hunter Resources Corp. released information on several completions in Lavaca County (RRC Dist. 2), Texas. The #2H Leopard Hunter initially flowed 1,024 bbl. of oil equivalent. The 15,903-ft. Eagle Ford producer was tested on a 17/64-in. choke with a flowing casing pressure of 1,400 psi. The Eagle Ford was fracture stimulated with 23 stages and Magnum Hunter owns a 50% working interest. In Eagleville Field, #3H Leopard Hunter had an initial daily rate of 1,250 bbl. of oil equivalent. The well was drilled to 15,756 ft. and had a horizontal lateral length of 5,061 ft. Tested on a 17/64-in. choke, the flowing casing pressure was 1,400 psi after 22-stage fracturing. The #1H Moose Hunter had an initial daily rate of 1,819 bbl. of oil equivalent. The 16,985-ft. well had a horizontal lateral length of 5,633 ft. Tested on a 16/64-in. choke, the flowing casing pressure was 3,100 psi. The #2H Snipe Hunter produced 1,651 bbl. of oil equivalent. It was tested on an 18/64-in. choke with 2,150-psi flowing casing pressure. Drilled to 15,904 ft., the horizontal lateral length was 5,714 ft. and was fracture stimulated in 22 stages. The #3H Furrh was drilled to 17,310 ft., with a horizontal lateral length of 6,996 ft. The venture flowed 961 bbl. of oil equivalent following 27 stages of fracture treatment. The flowing casing pressure was 1,550 psi when tested on an 18/64-in. choke. Magnum Hunter owns a 50% working interest.
