Energy Industry Consultants and Engineers Intl. (EICE), a wholly owned subsidiary of Technical Toolboxes Inc. (TTI), will handle Phase II implementation of Marathon Oil’s (MRO) Eagle Ford digital oil field program in South Texas, Technical Toolboxes said Jan. 11.
Joe Summa, president of TTI, said that the Marathon project is the result of ongoing, successful digital oil field projects by the company’s subject matter experts.
The engagement scope for Phase II includes data from wellhead to financial system reporting and operations workflows.
The project must deliver alarm management, SCADA data validation and control and intelligent alerting solution areas; it must deliver working well performance/downtime solutions; it must facilitate the design and delivery of products associated with data integrity, data integration, and output management solution areas; and it must facilitate the development and delivery of digital oil field strategies, activities and milestones-related work products associated with the wellhead automation control and control room/collaboration solution areas.
TTI will continue as a sub-contract of EMC on Phase II. In the future, it plans to work on acquiring data/surveillance, transporting data/infrastructure, maintaining data repository, analysis and data correlation and model-based operations.
Jud Jacobs, director of upstream oil and gas research at IHS Inc., who authored an analysis, said digital technologies usually provide cheaper solutions for oilfield programs. IHS recently found that over the past 10 years, digital technologies have boosted output by 8% and lowered operating costs by 25%.
Technical Toolboxes Inc. is based in Houston.
