?1 According to IHS Inc., a Miocene well has been completed by Houston-based Milagro Exploration LLC in the northern portion of Matagorda County (RRC Dist. 3), about six miles southwest of Pledger, Texas. The #6 Duncan Ranch “E” was tested flowing 1.13 million cu. ft. of gas per day through perforations at 2,946-55 ft. On a 10/64-in. choke, flowing and shut-in casing pressures were measured at 1,190 psi and 1,200 psi, respectively. The discovery was drilled to a total depth of 3,500 ft. on a 1,428-acre lease in the I&GN RR Co. Survey, A-247. Log tops include Miocene at 2,948 ft.

2 In Brazoria County (RRC Dist. 3) near the town of Bailey’s Prairie, Texas, Houston-based Square Mile Energy LLC has completed a gas producer. According to interest-holder Samson Oil & Gas Ltd., an Australian firm, #1 Davis Bintliff tested flowing 6.17 million cu. ft. of gas and 74 bbl. of oil per day with no water through perforations at 14,341-59 ft. and 14,354-68 ft. Flowing tubing pressure was 9,738 psi on a 13/64-in. choke. The #1 Davis Bintliff was directionally drilled by Square Mile to a total depth of 14,952 ft. on a 410-acre lease in the Samuel Carter Survey, A-53.

3 Aminex PLC reports that #2 Sunny Ernst flowed 6.14 million cu. ft. gas and 342 bbl. of condensate per day from the first of three productive zones. Located in Galveston County, Texas, the #2 SE encountered multiple hydrocarbon-bearing formations in four separate zones: the Weiting sand, S sand, Upper Andrau and the Massive sand. The well operator is Coronado Energy, and partners include Aminex, 37.5%; El Paso Corp., 25%; Activa Resources, 14.5%; McFuel Corp., 12.5%; and Ventum Energy, 5%. Animex PLC’s headquarters are in London.

4 A Yegua directional well in Hardin County (RRC Dist. 3), Texas, has been completed by Century Exploration Houston Inc. The completion expanded three-well Van Meter Field in the eastern portion of the county, about two miles southwest of Evadale. The #2 BP America “A-39” flow-tested 2.42 million cu. ft. of gas and 45 bbl. of 57.6-degree condensate per day through perforations at 9,441-9,545 ft. Flowing and tubing shut-in pressures measured 1,775 psi and 3,100 psi, respectively. Located on a 773-acre lease in the Charles A. Felder Survey, A-21, the new producer was drilled to a total depth of 10,288 ft. Log tops include the Yegua Eponides yeguaensis at 8,942 ft. and Cook Mountain at 10,160 ft. Century Exploration is based in Houston.

5 Fayetteville-based Seeco Inc. has completed four horizontal wells drilled from a common pad about seven miles southeast of the town of Clinton, Ark. The wells opened a new Fayetteville shale pool in the northern Arkoma Basin. The Van Buren County wells include #1-35H Parish 10-13 in Section 35-10n-13w, with a preliminary flow rate of 3.19 million cu. ft. of gas per day. It was projected south-southeastward to 8,900 ft. To the west, #2-35H26 Parish 10-13 flow-tested 3.18 million cu. ft. of gas per day from a north-northeast Fayetteville lateral terminating at 9,200 ft. in Section 26.
Another 20 ft. to the west, #3-35H Parish 10-13 flowed 2.52 million cu. ft. of gas per day during initial tests of a south-southwest horizontal leg that was projected to bottom in Section 35.?Gas flowed at an initial rate of 4.39 million cu. ft. daily at #4-35H26 Parish 10-13 from a north-northwest lateral extending to Section 26. Measured and true vertical depths for these wells were projected at 9,300 ft. and 3,400 ft., respectively.?IHS Inc. reported respective shut-in pressures of 503 psi, 798 psi, 728 psi and 1,060 psi for the new wells, but no additional information was available. The pad is two miles north-northwest of the nearest Fayetteville producer, a horizontal Seeco discovery made in early 2008 that has been incorporated into the greater B-43 Fayetteville producing region; two of four planned wells have been completed at the latter pad.

6 A Cotton Valley producer by Shreveport-based Will-Drill Production Co. flowed 1.2 million cu. ft. of gas, 20 bbl. of 60-degree condensate and 157 bbl. of water per day through commingled zones of Hosston and Cotton Valley at 8,085-10,202 ft. The #1 Haynes 7 is located in Alabama Bend Field in Section 7-15n-9w, Bienville Parish, La. The well was tested on a 26/64-in. choke, flowing tubing pressure was gauged at 1,175 psi and drilled to a total depth of 10,540 ft. Log tops include Austin Chalk at 2,909 ft. and Cotton Valley at 9,657 ft.

7 IHS Inc. reports a Frio vertical well completion by Longville, La.-based Windrush Operating Co. is adding to production in Masters Creek Field in the southern portion of Rapides Parish, La. The #4 Lord Timber LLC was tested flowing 300,000 cu. ft. of gas daily through perforations at 4,398-4,404 ft. On a 6/64-in. choke, flowing and shut-in tubing pressures were measured at 1,500 psi and 1,650 psi, respectively. Drilled to a total depth of 4,494 ft. in Section 25-1s-3w, 41/2-in. casing was set at 5,584 ft.

8 McMoRan Exploration Co., New Orleans, and partners Chevron USA and Plains Exploration & Production announced that a production test on a Flatrock Field well, #231 OCS 00310, in South Marsh Island Block 212, had a gross flow rate of 109 million cu. ft. of gas and 2,500 bbl. of condensate per day from the primary Rob-L sand. The #231 is expected to begin production by year-end using the Tiger Shoal facilities in the area. The well was drilled to 15,315 ft. and was scheduled to be deepened to a total depth of 18,500 ft. A fifth Flatrock well, #232 OCS 00310, is currently being drilled toward a proposed total depth of 18,400 ft.?

9 Castex Energy Inc.’s #1 Leroy J. Foret et al was tested flowing 4.98 million cu. ft. of gas and 176 bbl. of 46.9-degree condensate per day through perforations at 12,460-12,516 ft. Located in the Dufrene Ponds in the northeastern portion of Lafourche Parish, La., Houston-based Castex’s Miocene completions extended Joe McHugh Field. On an 18/64-in. choke, flowing and shut-in tubing pressures for the directional well were gauged at 4,600 psi and 4,687 psi, respectively. The new producer reached a total depth of 12,545 ft. in Section 39-15s-19e.

10 In Hinds County, Miss., Plano, Texas-based Denbury Onshore LLC plans to reenter a wildcat in the northern portion of the county, about 11 miles north of the town of Bolton, Miss. The #1 Capitol Magnolia LLC 33-2 is located in Section 33-8n-3w. Reentry plans are for an apparent Cotton Valley target at 16,800 ft.; there is no comparable production in the vicinity. Originally drilled as the #1 White, it was abandoned in 1972 and was production-tested flowing 8 million cu. ft. of gas daily through perforations at 15,891-15,965 ft. in Cotton Valley.
Meanwhile, Houston-based EOG Resources Inc. has staked a deep wildcat in the central portion of Hinds County, about five miles southeast of Edwards. The #1 Belknap 18-3 is located in Section 18-5n-3w, and plans call for drilling to 17,500 ft. with a target objective in Hosston.

11 The Southeastern Oil Review is reporting gas production from a Cotton Valley reentry well operated by Ventex Operating Co. of Dallas. The #1 Eunice Odum is in Section 21-7n-16w in Covington County, northwest of Hattiesburg, Miss. Gas is flowing in the South Williamsburg Field at 720,000 cu. ft. per day through a 48/64-in. choke with a flowing tubing pressure at 80 psi. Completion is from perforations at 18,560-82 ft. The well was originally completed in Hosston.
