?1 A dual-gas Pennsylvanian producer has been completed in northeastern Eddy County, N.M., by Cimarex Energy of Denver. Located about 20 miles east of Artesia, #2 Juno 27 Federal Com was tested flowing 2.18 million cu. ft. of gas, 37 bbl. of 52-degree condensate and no water per day from perforations at 10,080-10,109 ft. Flowing tubing pressure was 1,900 psi on a 20/64-in. choke. A deeper Morrow zone was also tested flowing 2.23 million cu. ft. of gas, 11 bbl. of 48-degree condensate and 13 bbl. of water daily. Perforations were at 10,406-52 ft. The deeper zone was tested on a 20/64-in. choke with a flowing tubing pressure of 920 psi. The Atoka interval has been placed in High Lonesome Southwest Field, while the Morrow zone is in Henshaw Southwest Field.

2 Wichita Falls, Texas-based Gunn Oil Co. has completed its first stepout from a southern Dalhart Basin discovery. The northeastern Oldham County (RRC Dist. 10) venture is about 15 miles from Channing, Texas. The #2 L.S. Ranch, League 304, SCL (A. Taylor) Survey, A-415, was initially tested pumping 71 bbl. of 43-gravity oil, 10,000 cu. ft. of gas, and 113 bbl. of water daily. Perforations were made in Canyon at 8,948-62 ft., acidized and fracture-stimulated. Log tops include Red Cave at 3,100 ft.; White Dolomite, 4,754 ft.; Cisco, 7,346 ft.; Canyon, 8,687 ft.; and Strawn at 9,003 ft. The well is a half mile southwest of the Cat Scratch 10 Field discovery, Gunn’s #1 L.S. Ranch, Section 69, Block GM-5, G&M survey, A-350. The 9,370-ft. basement test had an initial pumping potential of 58 bbl. of 44-gravity oil, 15,000 cu. ft. of gas and 165 bbl. of water per day from Canyon at 8,856-70 ft. following acid and frac. The new field is about 2.5 miles east-southeast of the nearest previous producer, a wildcat that opened Tascosa Field.

3 OXY USA Inc.’s delineation drilling program in the Oklahoma Panhandle’s Texas County has resulted in the completion of a 149-bbl.-per-day oil producer. Located about four miles west of Guymon, Okla., #1 Paine A, in Section 31-3n-14e, is producing through untreated perforations in Morrow at 6,184-6,203 ft. The #1 Paine A was drilled to 6,483 ft. and logged the top of Lansing at 4,415 ft. and the Morrow at 6,125 ft.; no additional information was disclosed by the Los Angeles-based corporation.

4 An EOG Resources Inc. development well completed four miles northwest of Higgins, Texas, initially flowed 591 bbl. of 46-gravity oil, 2.27 million cu. ft. of gas and 155 bbl. of water daily. The #3H Cooper 358 in Section 358, Block 43, H&TC Survey, A-876, produces from a fracture-stimulated and acidized horizontal leg in Cleveland sand perforated between 8,620 and 11,165 ft. Flowing tubing pressure was 236 psi on a 36/64-in. choke. The new producer is in Lipscomb County (RRC Dist. 10) and was drilled southward to a measured depth of 11,510 ft. with a bottomhole location in the same section.

5 Oil, 419 bbl., and gas, 1.27 million cu. ft., flowed from an Anadarko Basin exploratory test completed by Tulsa-based Samson Resources Co. 13 miles west of Watonga, Okla.?The company’s #1-23 Vicious Fox is in Section 23-16n-14w, southeastern Dewey County, and produces through untreated perforations in the Morrow at 10,105-33 ft. The shut-in tubing pressure was reported at 4,075 psi and the flowing tubing pressure was measured at 2,700 psi on a 10/64-in. choke. Log tops reported from the site include Tonkawa at 7,251 ft.; Cleveland, 8,669 ft.; Skinner, 9,088 ft.; Red Fork, 9,280 ft.; Atoka, 9,459 ft.; and Morrow at 9,877 ft. The test’s total depth is 10,470 ft.

6 A new Anadarko Basin horizontal Woodford producer by Devon Energy Production is located five miles southwest of Calumet, Okla., and is flowing 5.14 million cu. ft. of gas, 105 bbl. of oil and 572 bbl. of water per day.?Located in Section 25-13n-10w, western Canadian County, #1-25H Austin produces from a northwest lateral that was drilled in the same section and perforated between 13,223 ft. and 16,731 ft. and fracture-stimulated in nine stages. Flowing tubing pressure in the #1-25H Austin was reported at 3,075 psi on an 18/64-in. choke. The measured depth is 16,920 ft. and the true vertical depth is 12,649 ft.

7 Vector Exploration Inc. of Edmond, Okla., has completed a development test about seven miles south of Tonkawa, Okla. The #1-11 KC 80 is in Tonkawa Field and pumped 108 bbl. of 44-gravity oil, 111,000 cu. ft. of gas and 111 bbl. of water per day. The well is producing from an open-hole interval at 4,538-4,721 ft. in Mississippi Lime that was fractured and acidized. Reported log tops are Hoover at 2,058 ft.; Carmichael, 2,346 ft.; Tonkawa, 2,760 ft.; Layton, 3,372 ft.; Big Lime, 3,901 ft.; Mississippi Chat, 4,437 ft.; and Mississippi Lime at 4,467 ft. The #1-11 KC 80 is in Section 11-24n-1w, northern Noble County. Tonkawa Field was discovered in 1921.

8 EEC Inc. of Norman, Okla., has completed the state’s first horizontal Skinner producer at a wildcat drilled within the city limits of Stillwater, Okla. The #1-14H Stillwater, in Section 14-19n-2e, Payne County, initially tested on a 25/64-in. choke flowing 450 bbl. of 34-gravity oil with 230,000 cu. ft. of gas per day and no water. Bottomhole location is to the southwest and the measured depth is 7,256 ft. with the true vertical depth, 4,037 ft. The well is producing from an untreated, open-hole lateral in Lower Skinner below 4,492 ft. All previous horizontal wells in Payne County have targeted Hunton in Ramsey South, Coyle, Coyle North, Coyle South, and Goodnight Northeast fields.

9 Tulsa-based PetroQuest Energy LLC completed a Woodford horizontal well in Oklahoma’s Pine Hollow South Field about five miles east of Stuart, Okla. The #1-11H Wageman is in Section 14-5n-12e, western Hughes County. Flow of 6.38 million cu. ft. of gas and 1,367 bbl. of water per day were reported on completion through 12 fracture-stimulated intervals between 8,250 and 12,594 ft. Flowing tubing pressure of 350 psi was measured on an open choke. The bottomhole location is to the northeast in Section 11-5n-12e and the measured and true vertical depths are 12,647 ft. and 7,711 ft., respectively.

10 From Red Oak-Norris Field in Oklahoma, BP America Production Co. has announced a new horizontal producer about five miles northeast of Red Oak, Okla. The #13 Martin Unit C is in Section 20-6n-22e, northeastern Latimer County, and was tested through frac ports in the Red Oak at 7,976 ft., 8,441 ft., 8,983 ft., 9,431 ft., 9,929 ft., 10,322 ft. and 10,982 ft., flowing 3.45 million cu. ft. of gas per day on an unreported choke. The reported shut-in and flowing tubing pressures were 2,685 and 2,644 psi. The 10,920-ft. venture has a south lateral drilled to a true vertical depth of 7,922 ft. at a bottom-hole in the same section. BP’s U.S. headquarters are in Houston.

11 A?Hanna Oil & Gas Co. well, #3 Brushy Mountain, reported a preliminary flow rate of 8.26 million cu. ft. of gas per day at a new Arkoma Basin well drilled 2.5 miles from Caulksville, Ark. The #3 Brushy Mountain is located in Section 23-7n-27w, Logan County, and was tested in a fracture-stimulated interval of Middle Turner at 4,522-4,674 ft. and two Lower Turner zones at 4,734-40 and 4,786-95 ft. The well was drilled to a total depth of 5,571 ft. and was cased to 4,955 ft. No other details were released. Hanna’s headquarters are in Fort Smith, Ark.
