Renewables developer RIC Energy announced the sale of seven photovoltaic plants to decarbonization company Radical Power, according to a March 21 press release.
The plants, located in upstate New York, have a combined capacity of 34 megawatts (MW) and are expected to provide 100% clean energy to more than 8,000 homes “participating in their respective utilities’ community solar programs,” the release stated.
Total investment for the projects is expected to be more than $85 million.
“This strategic expansion aligns with our commitment to geographical diversity and technological innovation, solidifying our position as a premier independent power producer in the U.S. market,” said José Luis Moya, the global CEO of RIC Energy.
In recent months, RIC Energy sold 13 photovoltaic plants in New York with a total capacity of 70 MW to various companies, the release said.
