Hawkwood Energy LLC has snagged about 500 barrels per day (bbl/d) of oil producing assets primarily in the Eagle Ford Shale in a deal for East Texas properties.
The Denver-based company said May 19 its subsidiary, Hawkwood Energy East Texas LLC, acquired producing and non-producing assets primarily in Leon and Madison counties in Texas from an undisclosed seller. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The properties are immediately contiguous and complementary to Hawkwood's existing East Texas properties, the release said.
With the addition of the properties, Hawkwood will produce about 4,000 bbl/d of oil from 76 wells, which includes Woodbine, Buda and Eagle Ford production. The company's acreage will also total more than 100,000 net acres of undeveloped leasehold primarily prospective for the Woodbine and Eagle Ford formations.
Hawkwood will continue to seek "additional similar opportunities to acquire quality assets to add to our East Texas position," said Patrick Oenbring, chairman and CEO, in a statement.
