James P. Henderson was hired as executive vice president of finance and CFO of Synergy Resources Corp. (SYRG), the company said Aug. 25.
Henderson is the former CFO of Kodiak Oil and Gas Corp., and has more than 25 years’ experience in financial reporting and management for the oil and gas industry. Previously, he worked for 17 years at Western Gas Resources and its successor, Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (APC).
Henderson has a bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University and a master’s of business administration degree from Regis University in Denver.
Lynn Peterson, president, said Henderson’s experience will help Synergy grow its D-J Basin asset base. Peterson also said that Monty Jennings, who has been CFO since 2008, will remain on the executive team as chief accounting officer.
Synergy also said it opened an office in Denver, and brought four people on staff there.
Mike Eberhard is vice president of completions. He has more than 30 years’ industry work experience, including in management. In the last four years he was completion manager for the Wattenberg Field at Anadarko. He spent almost 30 years at Halliburton Co., 10 of them as a technical manager and 20 in other roles.
Eberhard has a bachelor’s degree from Montana State University. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Cathleen Osborn is vice president and general counsel. She has almost 30 years’ experience as a corporate attorney in the industry. Most recently, she was in-house counsel for Whiting Petroleum, and, previously, for Kodiak Oil & Gas.
She has a law degree from the University of Denver School of Law.
Barry Myhr is the business development land manager. Myhr has 15 years’ experience managing D-J Basin land assets. For the past eight years, he was land negotiator/supervisor for Noble Energy Inc. (NBL). Prior to that, he worked for Patina Oil and Gas Corp., which Noble acquired.
Myhr has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado’s College of Finance and Business. He is a certified professional landman.
Synergy Resources Corp. is based in Platteville, Colo.
