AFGlobal Corp. said July 14 it agreed to acquire Managed Pressure Operations (MPO), a subsidiary of MHWirth, for an undisclosed amount.
The combination of companies creates a complete deepwater managed pressure drilling offering, with technology covering both onshore and offshore applications, according to the release.
As a vertically integrated supplier, the acquisition of MPO also further solidifies Houston-based AFGlobal's position as a specialized original equipment manufacturer.
Following closing, MPO will become a new business group within AFGlobal's oil and gas segment known as Advanced Drilling Systems. The company's complete portfolio will include riser gas management systems, early kick/loss detection, managed pressure drilling, dual gradient drilling and continuous circulation.
