Josh Young was appointed to the board at RMP Energy Inc. as an independent director, the company said Jan. 4.

Young is the portfolio manager for Houston-based Bison Interests LLC, which handles more than $65 million in oil and natural gas investments and currently owns more than 11.5 million RMP common shares.

Young co-founded Bison. Prior to that, he invested in undervalued upstream public equities, RMP said. Previously, he was an investment analyst at Karlin Asset Management, and also previously was a private-equity investor and management consultant.

Canada-based, Montney-focused RMP also said that Young previously was on the board of Lucas Energy Inc.

Young graduated from the University of Chicago.

Young said he looked forward to RMP’s delineation work at Gold Creek and development work at Waskahigan.
