Investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) and Fleur de Lis Energy LLC closed the acquisition of Powder River and Green River basin properties from Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: APC).
The terms of the transaction weren't disclosed.
The assets, in Wyoming, include the Salt Creek Field, Monell Field, Linch Field and Howell Pipeline. Net production is about 14,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d), and 270 million cubic feet per day of CO2 pipeline capacity.
There are also near-term development opportunities on inventory.
Fleur de Lis’ CEO, Porter Trimble, said that the fields have more than 2 billion barrels of original oil in place, and only a portion is recovered to date.
“These are exactly the type of long-lived oil assets we look to own and operate,” he said.
Jonathan Smidt, a KKR member, said that the Fleur de Lis team led by Porter has a strong track record of creating value from mature tertiary recovery projects.
Dallas-based Fleur de Lis operates in the West Texas Permian Basin and in southern Mississippi. KKR is based in New York.
