1 Resolute Energy Corp. - 08/15/12

In Martin County (RRC Dist. 8), Texas, Resolute Energy Corp. has completed an apparent discovery in the western portion of the Spraberry Trend. According to IHS Inc., #3 Lloyd 42 was tested pumping 114 bbl. of 45.5-degree-gravity crude and 58 bbl. of water per day, with no gas. Production comes from commingled fracture-treated zones at 9,085-9,268 ft. in Wolfcamp/Cline, 9,372-9,825 ft. in Cline and 9,890-10,422 ft. in Mississippian. The new producer was drilled to 10,631 ft. on a 327-acre Midland Basin lease in Section 42, Block A, Bauer & Cockrell Survey, A-1121. Resolute Energy’s headquarters are in Denver.

2. Chesapeake Operating Inc. - 06/01/12

Chesapeake Operating Inc. completed a horizontal Midland Basin well in Borden County (RRC Dist. 8A), Texas. The #1H Muleshoe 23-26 BDN pumped 50 bbl. of 40-degree-gravity oil, 1,000 cu. ft. of gas and 1,265 bbl. of water per day. According to IHS Inc., production is from acid- and fracture-stimulated Wolfcamp perforations at 7,605-14,780 ft. The discovery was drilled to 14,804 ft. in Section 26, Block 32, T4N, T&P RR Co Survey, A-931. True vertical depth is 7,405 ft. The lateral, which was drilled out of an 8,270-ft. pilot hole, bottomed about 2 miles to the northwest beneath adjacent Section 23. Chesapeake’s headquarters are in Oklahoma City.

3. Broad Oak Energy Inc. - 02/13/12

A Midland Basin multizone producer has been completed in Glasscock County (RRC Dist. 8), Texas. The #47I Frysak A is operated by Broad Oak Energy Inc. of Dallas. The well was tested flowing 75 bbl. of oil, 179,000 cu. ft. of gas and 33 bbl. of water from stimulated perforations at 5,964-7,517 ft. (Spraberry/Dean); 7,639-7,822 ft. (Dean/Wolfcamp); 7,959-8,805 ft. (Wolfcamp); 8,832-9,122 ft. (Canyon); 9,319-9,558 ft. (Cline); and 9,762-10,000 ft. (Atoka). The 10,277-ft. well is on a 330-acre lease in Section 47, Block 34, T5S, T&P Survey, A-286.

4. Laredo Petroleum Inc. - 02/01/12

A new Midland Basin producer was completed in Glasscock County (RRC Dist. 8), Texas. Tulsa-based Laredo Petroleum-Dallas Inc.’s #39O Fuchs had an initial daily potential of 160 bbl. of 41-degree-gravity oil, 704,000 cu. ft. of gas and 21 bbl. of water per day. The well is producing through commingled, acid- and fracture-treated perforations at 6,034-7,593 ft. in Spraberry/Dean; 7,720-8,888 ft. in Wolfcamp; 9,030-9,282 ft. in Canyon; 9,400-9,652 ft. in Cline and 9,948-10,200 ft. in the Atoka/Barnett shale. The 10,346-ft. producer is on an 83.4-acre lease in Section 39, Block 34, T5S, T&P RR Co Survey, A-284.

5. Chesapeake Operating Inc. - 01/13/12

Chesapeake Operating Inc. of Oklahoma City completed a horizontal Wolfcamp wildcat in Gaines County (RRC Dist. 8A), Texas. The Midland Basin venture, #1H Doss 292-12, was tested flowing 44 bbl. of 42-degree-gravity oil, 71,000 cu. ft. of gas and 1,598 bbl. of water daily from acid- and fracture-treated perforations at 10,145-14,920 ft. Tested on an 18/64-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 130 psi. A 12,000-ft. vertical pilot hole was initially drilled by the Oklahoma City-based company in Lot 12, Section 292, Lynn County School Land Survey, A-967. The lateral reached a total depth of 14,955 ft., 9,992 ft. true vertical, and bottomed to the southeast. Objectives also included the shallow Glorieta (New Era and New Era South fields), the Canyon or Siluro-Devonian in Doss Field and the Devonian or Ellenburger in Tripp Field.

6. El Paso Exploration & Production Co. LP - 12/07/11

El Paso E&P Co. completed a horizontal Wolfcamp well in Reagan County (RRC Dist. 7C), Texas. The #1H University 43-17 flowed 1,270 bbl. of oil and 591,000 cu. ft. of gas (1,369 bbl. of oil equivalent) per day. The well has a 7,500-ft. lateral and was completed with 25 stages. According to IHS Inc., El Paso plans to optimize its completion processes as well as its flow-back procedures in order to maximize fluid recovery. Drilled to 14,600 ft., the true vertical depth is 6,702 ft. Log tops include Wolfcamp at 6,367 ft., Wolfcamp A at 6,546 ft. and Wolfcamp B at 6704 ft. The Midland Basin producer is in Section 17, Block 43, University Lands Survey. Houston-based El Paso has completed seven Wolfcamp wells to date and planned to operate two rigs in this area for the remainder of 2011.
