Matador Resources Co. (NYSE: MTDR) said Aug. 29 the Black River cryogenic natural gas processing plant in the Delaware Basin is up and running.

The new Delaware processing plant was built by Dallas-based Matador in its Rustler Breaks prospect area in Eddy County in New Mexico. The plant has has an inlet capacity of about 60 million cubic feet per day of natural gas.

The plant, which will support Matador’s ongoing and future development efforts at Rustler Breaks, was brought online "both on time and on budget," said Joseph Wm. Foran, Matador's chairman and CEO.

"The plant provides Matador with priority one takeaway and processing for our Rustler Breaks natural gas production and should also provide additional income through the processing of third-party natural gas," Foran said in a statement.

In addition, Matador completed the installation and testing of a 12-inch natural gas gathering line running throughout the length of its Rustler Breaks acreage position. The gathering line is also operational and being used to gather much of the company's natural gas production at Rustler Breaks, the release said.

Matador's midstream team also continued to operate the saltwater disposal assets and the three separate pipeline systems it retained from the sale of its Loving County, Texas, gathering system in 2015, Foran said.
