Matador Resources Co. (MTDR) detailed its full-year 2015 production results on Jan. 12. During 2015, there was record oil, natural gas and total oil equivalent production.
About 4.5 million barrels (MMbbl) of oil, 27.7 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of natural gas and 9.1MMboe of oil equivalent was produced, Matador added. They were the best annual production numbers in company history for any single calendar year, and were at the top of 2015 guidance metrics, which had been revised to 4.4MMbbl-4.5MMbbl of oil and 27Bcf-28Bcf of natural gas.
Oil production increased by 35%, to 4.5MMbbl, compared with 2014. Gas production increased by 81% to 27.7Bcf, and total oil equivalent production increased by 55% to 9.1MMboe, Matador said.
There were challenging operating and commodity price periods during 2015, and the company reduced its drilling program to two rigs, down from five, during the first quarter. In late July it returned to three.
For several days during the last week of the year, much of the Delaware Basin production was shut in due to winter storms in West Texas and New Mexico. This production is currently back online, Matador added.
Matador Resources Co. is based in Dallas.
