Preferred Sands launched FloPRO PTT proppant transport technology, expanding its MultiPRO proppant line, the company said Sept. 28.
The product increases the propped frack volume and reduces sand settling during slickwater fracks, the company said, noting it will be introduced at the Society of Petroleum Engineers’ annual technical conference and exhibition from September 28 to 30 in Houston.
Michael O’Neill, founder and CEO, said the cost per barrel of oil equivalent will be reduced through the use of FloPRO.
FloPRO field tests have been successfully completed in the Mississippi Lime with Gore Nitrogen Pumping Service. During the field tests, pumping times decreased by about 20%, the company said.
Preferred Sands is based in Radnor, Pa.
