Rockefeller Hughes Corp. will spud the Pryor #1H well on its Halo prospect in Robertson County, Texas, later this month, the company said Oct. 7.
Pryor #1H will be its first operated well in the prospect since the operatorship was assumed from Encana Corp. (TO: ECA, NYSE: ECA), since some of its East Texas properties were sold April 29 to third parties for about $530 million, Rockefeller Hughes added.
Pryor #1, a dual-lateral horizontal, will target the Buda and Georgetown formations. It will be drilled to about 8,000 feet true vertical depth, and its projected lateral length is 2,700 feet, the company said.
Rockefeller Hughes has a 50% working interest in the Halo prospect, while purchasers of Encana interest hold the other half, the company noted. The well was proposed to the partners, and the company will assume 45% or more of the nonconsenting interest of two nonoperators, the company added.
The company is also participating in the nonoperated working interest of a Lee County, Texas, well that is being drilled and should begin producing in the Eagle Ford in November.
