A subsidiary of Savage Cos. successfully commissioned its new Savage Bakken Connector Pipeline on June 6. The pipeline is in service and connects Savage’s Bakken Petroleum Services Hub in Trenton, N.D., to the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) near Trenton in Williams County.

“We’re excited to provide our oilfield customers in the Bakken with options to safely and efficiently move crude oil to prime markets,” said Kirk Aubry, Savage president and CEO. “Our Trenton terminal is an established, strategically located access point for inbound gathering of crude oil and outbound options that include rail transportation via BNSF Railway’s main line track and this new pipeline connection to DAPL.”

The Savage Bakken Connector Pipeline includes approximately 2 miles of 10-inch interstate crude oil pipeline facilities, and a starting capacity of 60,000 barrels per day. Savage plans to provide capacity to firm shippers while the remaining non-committed capacity will continue to be available to walk-up customers.

As a common carrier pipeline, as defined in the Interstate Commerce Act, the Savage Bakken Connector Pipeline is subject to the jurisdiction of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
