US Tight Gas

Researchers estimate that for every gallon of water used to frac for natural gas, Texas saved 33 gallons of water by using that gas for electricity generation.

“Right now there are a lot of reasons” to favor using natural gas, said Carol Browner, a senior counselor at Albright Stonebridge Group, a Washington-based global strategy organization.

Home heating, consumer vehicles, power generation and rail are all expected to drive demand for natural gas in the future.
