The free Eagle Ford Mobile Network smartphone app, developed by founder and CEO Marco Flores, meets the needs of Eagle Ford operators, workers and businesses, Business Wire said Oct. 28. Users can access “a wealth of information to help them get the job done and run their businesses more efficiently,” Business Wire added.
Flores said that he created the app to address “operational challenges” in the small-business sector that he and his father experienced. “Weak and inefficient access to relevant information and communication issues cost the business in lost productivity and delays.”
“I became frustrated because there were certain types of information we needed to access, that the workers needed access to, that companies we did business with needed access to…and it would take up several days just trying to track down the information that was needed to make a decision. So I started making a list of the things that I learned would be helpful to the people who work in this industry, and specifically in this area—and that became the blueprint for the app,” Flores added.
The features include location-based smart directories, job listings, equipment sales, CDL monitoring access, small business support, industry news and social media communications. The directories use GPS and display business listings—oil field service providers, food catering, lodging, leisure, small business help and safety organizations—based on which ones are closest to the user. Employers and drivers can monitor their CDL status and violations, Business Wire said.
“Nothing like this has ever been available to the people who work so hard to make this community what it is. It’s going to totally disrupt the traditional ways people have historically accessed some of the basic information they need out in the field…in a good way. It’s going to save businesses invaluable time and money,” said Flores.
