Description

A Dawson County (RRC Dist. 8A), Texas, Spraberry well was completed by Smith Energy Operating Co. in the Midland Basin. According to IHS Markit, #1 Pierce 14 initially flowed 100 bbl of 36-degree-gravity crude and 23 Mcf of gas per day from acidized perforations at 7,762-80 ft. The CMI Field well was drilled to 7,987 ft and is on a 260-acre West Texas lease in Section 14, Block M, EL&RR Co Survey, A-1258, and was plugged back to 7,952 ft. Within one-half to the northeast in the same section, #1 Riddel 14 was completed in early 2017 pumping 73 bbl of 36-degree-gravity crude and 17 Mcf of gas per day from acidized perforations at 7,751-58 ft and 7,760-64 ft. It was drilled to 7,950 and the CMI Field oil well produced 1.643 Mbbl of crude and 283 Mcf of gas during its first month. One-half-mile to the south is shallow San Andres oil production in MTS Field. Smith is based in Lubbock, Texas.
