On April 25, Torchlight Energy Resources Inc. said that its rig has begun drilling the University Founders B-19 #1 well in the Orogrande project.
The well will be drilled and tested vertically in Section 19 near the center of the lease acreage, in order to further identify the net pay in the Cactus well; the net pay is more than 1,300 ft.
When University Founders B-19 #1 is drilled, Torchlight and Founders Oil and Gas—the operator—will run tests to support field development; Torchlight expects that pay zones, seen in the Rich A-11 well and five wells drilled by Texaco and others, will be further identified.
Will McAndrew III, COO, said that the Orogrande project spans 168,000 acres.
Torchlight Energy Resources Inc. is based in Plano, Texas.
