Whiting Petroleum Corp. (WLL) has appointed Carin S. Knickel to the company’s board of directors.
Knickel served as vice president, human resources, for ConocoPhillips Inc. (COP) from 2003 until her retirement in 2012. She has 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry beginning her career with Conoco in 1979, serving in the United States and Europe in executive, operations management, marketing, planning and business development positions. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and statistics from the University of Colorado and a master’s degree in management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
She also serves on the board of Hudbay Minerals Inc. and the Engineering Advisory Council for the College of Engineering, University of Colorado.
