Matador Production Co. completed a horizontal Wolfcamp discovery in Eddy County, N.M. The Delaware Basin well, #203H Tom Walters 12-23s-27e RB, was tested flowing 2.454 MMcf of gas, 1.145 Mbbl of 47.4-degree-gravity oil and 2.454 Mbbl of water per day. It is in Section 11-23s-27e and was drilled to 14,316 ft, 9,371 ft true vertical, and production is from acidized and fracture-stimulated perforations at 9,550-14,145 ft. The horizontal leg bottomed 1 mile to the east in Section 13. It was tested on a 34/64-in. choke, and the flowing casing pressure was 1,889 psi. Matador’s headquarters are in Dallas.
