Devon Energy Corp. also completed four Nemaha Ridge horizontal Woodford exploratory wells from drilled from a common pad in Logan County, Okla.

The Woodford shale is one of several organic shales of late Devonian and early Mississippian age. Where thermally mature, these black shales are hydrocarbon source rocks. The Mississippian-aged Woodford shale in southeastern Oklahoma and is 120-220 feet thick and found between 6,000-20,000 feet.

Production is from a treated Woodford lateral at 12,245-16,887 ft. The respective measured and true vertical depths are 17,007 ft. and 11,673 ft.

3 Devon Energy Corp. 05/21/13

Devon Energy Corp. has reported preliminary production rates from four Nemaha Ridge horizontal Woodford exploratory wells drilled from a common pad in Logan County, Okla. The #1WH C. Matthews 4-18n-2w is in Section 4-18n-2w and flowed 739 bbl. of oil, 550,000 cu. ft. of gas and 1,582 bbl. of water per day. The 10,387-ft. well has a north lateral extending to a true vertical depth of 5,650 ft. The #1WH C. Matthews 5-18n-2w produced 725 bbl. of oil with 550,000 cu. ft. of gas and 1,499 bbl. of water per day. The venture produces from a parallel lateral extending to a bottomhole in Section 5-18n-2w. The #1WH C. Matthews 9-18n-2w was drilled to a bottomhole in Section 9-18n-2w, and produced 156 bbl. of oil, 60,000 cu. ft. of gas and 924 bbl. of water per day. The #1WH C. Matthews 8-18n-2w flowed 150 bbl. of oil, 60,000 cu. ft. of gas and 950 bbl. of water per day. The projected bottomhole is in Section 8-18n-2w. Oklahoma City-based Devon plans to drill approximately 400 wells in its Nemaha Ridge project and holds about 600,000 net acres in the region, of which approximately 450,000 net acres are outside its joint venture area with Sinopec.

4 Continental Resources Inc. 04/29/13

Oklahoma City-based Continental Resources Inc. completed two horizontal Anadarko Basin Woodford wells in Grady County, Okla. The #1-13H Cosby is in Section 13-3n-5w and produced 8.14 million cu. ft. of gas and 405 bbl. of condensate daily.
