Description
Two Haynesville Shale tests are planned by BP Plc at the company’s Carthage Field program In Angelina County (RRC Dist. 6), Texas. The proposed #1H and #1HB Velo Gas Unit will be horizontally drilled from offsetting surface locations on a 960-acre East Texas lease in William White Survey, A-645. Both laterals are expected to bottom about 2 miles to the south in James Gilliland Survey, A-284, and the planned depth for each venture is 19,500 ft. The London-based company has been working since late 2016 to extend Carthage Field southward. About 3 miles west of the company’s Velo Gas lease is a Haynesville Shale well completed in 2017. The #1H Dino Gas Unit flowed 13.9 MMcf of gas and 54 bbl of water per day through perforations at 14,945-21,211 ft. BP has drilled two other horizontal tests on the Dino Gas Unit lease.
