Description

A Cotton Valley gas well in Limestone County (RRC Dist. 5), Texas, was completed by ExxonMobil Corp. subsidiary XTO Energy Inc. in Farrar Field. According to IHS Markit, #01H Blains Creek-Goldbeck flowed 3.311 MMcf of gas and 2.937 Mbbl of water per day through acid- and fracture-treated perforations at 11,059-17,552 ft. Tested on a 46/64-in. choke, the flowing casing pressure was 1,100 psi and shut-in casing pressure was at 1,450 psi. The well was horizontally drilled to 17,572 ft (11,071 ft true vertical). It is on a 1,044-acre East Texas lease in Manuel Crecencio Rejon Survey, A-26. It bottomed within 1.5 miles to the southeast beneath Lake Limestone in the same survey. Houston-based XTO operates an offsetting vertical gas well in Farrar Field: #1 Blains Creek Gas Unit was completed in 2008 and has produced 1.2 Bcf of gas from perforations at 10,880-13,512 ft.
