Williams appointed Carri Lockhart to the company's board of directors effective Feb. 10, a press release announced on Feb. 13.
Lockhart will be taking the place of Nancy Buese, who left the board to accept the position of CFO of Baker Hughes. Lockhart's addition to the board brings the total number of directors to 12 members, of whom 11 are independent.
Most recently serving as CTO and executive vice president of technology at Equinor before her retirement in 2022, Lockhart will serve as an independent director on the board's compensation and management development committee, as well as the environmental, health and safety committee.
"The Williams board is pleased to welcome an outstanding new director in Carri, who brings a depth of technological expertise and industry experience that will be valuable as we enhance our leadership in the clean energy economy and position Williams to further deliver long-term, sustainable value and growth for our shareholders," board chairman Stephen W. Bergstrom commented in the release.
During her 30-year career in energy, Lockhart oversaw resource development and operations in the Eagle Ford and Bakken shales and the U.K. in roles of increasing responsibility at Marathon Oil Co. before joining Equinor.
In addition to her role at Williams, Lockhart serves on the boards of Ascent Resources and Dril-Quip and was recognized in 2022 as one of Hart Energy's 25 Influential Women in Energy distinguished honorees.
