Presented by:
Phil Cossich, treasurer and CFO of LLOG Exploration Co., is today's featured Forty Under 40 honoree.
Born and raised in Belle Chasse, La., Cossich couldn't escape the oil and gas industry growing up. He knew it would be a reliable choice from a career standpoint, having seen the kind of work firsthand through his grandfather.
While he always hoped to become a CFO, Cossich didn't expect to become one so early in his career. He believes he was able to accomplish this by putting himself in the "CFO mindset" every day.
"I try to think about how I can bring value and win every day. I sought out ways to contribute to LLOG, no matter how small the task," Cossich said. "I feel like there was a point in my career at LLOG where I became the LLOG 'Google.'"
Cossich said that his mentor is his wife, who inspired him with her change in careers and motivates him to be his best at work.
"She did not give me advice, but she leads by example, and her drive inspires me," he said. "Even though my wife was a successful CPA, she changed careers to become a doctor."
