Midstream giant Williams’ board approved a regular dividend of $0.4475 per share, or $1.79 per share annualized, the company said in a July 25 press release.
The payout is a 5.3% increase from Williams’ third-quarter 2022 quarterly dividend of $0.425 per share paid in September 2022.
The dividend is payable on Sept. 25 to common stock holders of record at the close of business on Sept. 11.
Some portion of the distribution may be considered a return of capital for tax purposes, Williams said. Williams has paid a common stock dividend every quarter since 1974.
With major positions in top U.S. supply basins, Williams owns and operates more than 32,000 miles of pipelines system wide—including Transco, the nation’s largest volume natural gas pipeline. Williams handles approximately one-third of the natural gas in the U.S.
