Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Two offsetting horizontal Midland Basin wells have been completed from a drillpad in Dawson County (RRC Dist. 8A), Texas, by Murphy Oil Corp. The #1H Leatherwood Unit flowed 126 bbl of 40-degree-gravity oil, 33 Mcf of gas and 936 bbl of water per day from acid- and fracture-stimulated Wolfcamp perforations at 10,126-20,452 ft. The Spraberry Trend well was drilled to 20,605 ft out of an 11,131-ft pilot hole in Lot 6, Section 270, Moore CSL Survey, A-410. The lateral has a true vertical depth of 9,858 ft and bottomed 2 miles to the southeast in Lot 25. Tested on a 1-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 95 psi. The #2H Leatherwood Unit, according to IHS Markit, was tested in a shallower Spraberry zone at 9,475-20,187 ft. The initial daily potential was 208 bbl of 40-degree-gravity oil, 87 Mcf of gas and 1.369 Mbbl of water. It was tested after acidizing and fracturing on a 1-in. choke with a flowing tubing pressure of 94 psi. The parallel lateral was drilled to 20,345 ft, 9,309 ft true vertical. Murphy’s headquarters are in El Dorado, Ark.
