Description
In Lea County, N.M., Energen Resources Corp. has completed a horizontal Delaware Basin-Wolfcamp discovery. The #601H Brahman State 24-35-15 is producing 2.099 Mbbl of 43.5-degree-gravity oil, 1.773 MMcf of gas and 3.401 Mbbl of water per day. The well is in Section 15-24s-35e and production is from acid- and fracture-treated perforations at 12,565-16,257 ft. It was drilled to the south to 16,622 ft, 12,321 ft true vertical, with a 1-mile long lateral and was tested on a 38/64-in. choke with a flowing casing pressure of 1,145 psi. Nearby, the Birmingham, Ala.-based company is reportedly testing #454H Angus State 24-35-16 in adjacent Section 16-24s-35e but details are not currently available.
