Description
In the Indian Basin Field area of Eddy County, N.M., Mewbourne Oil Co. has completed the first of several horizontal Yeso tests. The discovery is on the Carlsbad Shelf of the Permian Basin at #001H Bogle Flats Federal Unit 3 Y1KC had an initial daily potential of 66 bbl of oil, 87 Mcf of gas and 417 bbl of water per day. The lateral bottomed within 1 mile to the north at 5,865 ft, 2,386 ft true vertical. It was tested after 16-stage fracturing and production is from perforations at 2,488-5,833 ft. The horizontal leg was drilled out of a 7,241-ft vertical well completed in 1997 in Section 3-22s-23e — #10 Bogle Flats Unit Gas Com, which had produced from Upper Pennsylvanian at 7,184-7,241 ft since its initial completion. Through 2018, the Indian Basin Field well has produced a cumulative 8.6 Bcf of gas, 32.807 Mbbl of condensate and 33.334 Mbbl of water. Mewbourne’s headquarters are in Tyler, Texas.
